About Me

whi andMy beekeeping journey began in 2019 when I attended a one-day training course. I was instantly hooked. For my birthday that year, I received my first hive, which I used as a model to build a second. Eager to get started, I ordered two bee colonies and excitedly counted down the days until they arrived.

Despite being a complete beginner, everything went surprisingly well. Both colonies thrived and grew quickly, which was an encouraging start.

In late June, I had the opportunity to collect a large swarm from a tree—an unexpected bonus that became my third hive. By the end of my first season, I had harvested an impressive 27kg of honey.

Early on, I joined the West Sussex Beekeepers Association. In 2021, I took over the association’s swarm list, and by 2022, I had become a committee member and Chairman in 2025.

In 2023, I expanded to Rowfant Trail, a beautiful woodland discovery trail nestled in 100 acres of ancient West Sussex woodland. I placed five hives there, and the honey was a big success.

2024, I’ve added a third site at Ifield Woods with the plan to move the Bees from my alloment in Langley Green to Ifield woods.

In 2025, I consolidated my beekeeping across three main locations: Ifield Woods, Rowfant Trail, and Highweald Winery and I still maintain a hive at County Mall as well.
