In 2019, I attended 1 day training in bee keeping, and from then on I got hooked. I was given my first hive for my birthday, and I used this as a template to build a second one. I then ordered two bee colonies and counted down the days until they arrived.

Everything went well, considering this was all new to me and being inexperienced. I was surprised that both colonies expanded quickly.

In late June, I was lucky enough to have been contacted about collecting a massive swarm from a tree. This then gave me my third hive. These hives progressed so well, I got 27kg of honey in my first year.

I joined the West Sussex BeeKeepers Association when I first got my bees. In 2021, I took over the association’s swarm list and became committee member in 2022.

In 2023, I expanded to the Rowfant Trail with 5 hives, and the honey was a great success. Rowfant Trail is a woodland discovery trail in 100 acres of ancient Wesr Sussex woodlands.

For 2024 I have a 3rd site in Ifield Woods. I will also bring Creamed Honey and wax melts to my site and craft stalls. I will also keep all my packing eco friendly and fully recyclable.
